BUS 101: FUNDAMENTALS OF BUSINESS 1 (2 Units) The scope of business; the Charter of business from social, legal and economic perspectives; Forms of ownership; Organization and Management, Marketing, Production, Finance and Accounting Functions; Government and Business; The social Responsibility of Business; International Business; Problems of Nigerian business enterprises.

BUS 102: FUNDAMENTALS OF BUSINESS II (2 Units)

Marketing, Production, Finance and Accounting Functions, Government and Business. The Social responsibility of business. International business. Problems of Nigerian business enterprises.

BUS 103: ELEMENTS OF GOVERNMENT

Nature of Politics: Society and Social Organisation: The State. The Problem of Law; Constitution and Constitutionalism; Political Ideology. The Classical Heritage, Plato, Aristotle; Stoleism and PaxRomanica: Revolt, Towards the Mass Man. Organs of Government (National Governmental Institutions); Public Administration; Political Parties and Pressure Groups; Public Opinion and Propaganda; Elections; International Order.

BUS 104: PEACE STUDIES AND CONFLICT RESOLUTION (2 Units)

Basic Concepts in peace studies and conflict resolution, Peace as vehicle of unity and development, Conflict issues, Types of conflict, e.g. Ethnic/religious/political/economic conflicts, Root causes of conflicts and violence in Africa, Indigene/settler phenomenon, Peace – building, Management of conflict and security. Elements of peace studies and conflict resolution, Developing a culture of peace, Peace mediation and peace-keeping, Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR). Dialogue/arbitration in conflict resolution, Role of international organizations in conflict resolution, e.g. ECOWAS, African Union, United Nations, etc.
